Jim Parsons (March 24, 1973) is an American television and film actor known to viewers as Sheldon Cooper on popular CBS sitcom, The Big Bang Theory, for which he was nominated for an Emmy Award for outstanding lead actor in comedy series.
Parson is born and raised in Houston, Texas and received his BA in theater from the University of Houston. During his years there he helped to create a non-profit theater, Infernal Bridegroom Productions, in which he participated in the productions of “Endgame”, “Guys and Dolls”, and “The Balcony.” He later earned his maters from University of San Diego.
Parson has appeared in many television shows including the hit series “Judging Amy” and guest appearance in “Ed”. His feature filmography includes “Garden State,” “Heights”, “On the Road with Judas,”"Gardener of Eden”,”10 Items or Less”, and “School of Scoundrels”.
Parsons is currently living in Brooklyn, New York and loves to play the piano and also enjoy watching sports such as tennis, baseball, and basketball.
